Leadership Institute of Nevada
The Leadership Institute of Nevada sees the possibility, potential, and hope in every Nevada student. By developing the skills and agency of leaders, the Institute enables them to build teams, schools, and systems that ensure student success. We were thrilled to showcase the highlights of one of their most popular programs: the Regional Leadership Summits. These summits, held twice a year in Northern and Southern Nevada, engage the community with topics that challenge participants to solve problems creatively and strategically. Featuring nationally-renowned scholars and practitioners, summit topics have included the No Time to Lose report on building a world-class education system and strategies for increasing equity and diversity among staff for all students.

The event provided a platform for an engaging and informative discussion on a variety of topics, including North Las Vegas's ongoing economic development, the pivotal role of higher education in preparing today's students for the workforce of tomorrow, and the collaborative efforts between the city and UNLV to support local businesses.
This gathering brought together key stakeholders, community leaders, and experts to explore how the city and UNLV can work in tandem to bolster economic growth and educational advancement. PAMPHLET: FOR UTILITIES WATER REPORT
As the right hand to the public information officers, I take on the responsibility of creating advanced graphics for various departments, going beyond typical tools like Canva. One notable project involved close collaboration with the Director of Utilities, Tom Brady, and the PIO of Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA), Lisa Story. Together, we successfully executed the design and implementation of our comprehensive water report.
Graphics play a critical role in water reports by making complex data more accessible, engaging stakeholders, enhancing communication, and promoting awareness. By using visuals effectively, water reports can become powerful tools for informing decision-making and driving positive change in water management and conservation efforts.
NEWSLETTER GRAPHICS
Newsletter graphics are crucial for the City of North Las Vegas as they enhance visual appeal, catching readers' attention and making the newsletter more engaging. In a digital age where we are constantly exposed to graphics on social media through our phones, an attractive newsletter has a higher chance of being read. Graphics also aid in establishing a strong branding identity, as readers become familiar with the provided visuals each month, reinforcing the organization's image. Additionally, graphics facilitate communication, emotional connections, and call-to-action reinforcement, while their design and shareability further contribute to the newsletter's effectiveness.

Writing for Newsletters
Having transitioned from being a photographer and videographer to developing my writing abilities, I take immense pride in serving as the primary writer for Councilman Cherchio's July Aliante Breeze newsletter. The diverse skill set I bring to the table has proven beneficial to all council members. Through writing for the councilman in magazines and newsletters, we effectively engage with the ward community, promoting transparency and accountability in local governance. This platform allows the councilman to showcase their vision and educate the public on crucial issues, fostering an informed and involved electorate.
STATE OF THE CITY LIVE BROADCAST, RUN OF SHOW COORDINATOR, AND GRAPHICS DESIGN ASSISTANCE
The State of the City address is a crucial event that fosters transparency, community engagement, and economic growth while charting the course for the city's development and addressing its challenges. It serves as a platform to celebrate achievements, discuss priorities, and communicate with residents, businesses, and potential investors.
In my capacity as a communication team member, I played a vital role in supporting the event. This involved designing graphic design for Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown's presentation slides. Before the event, I participated in a rehearsal with the mayor, providing technical assistance in the days leading up to the live broadcast. This support encompassed script assistance, lighting coordination, and optimizing the teleprompter for her seamless delivery. On the event day, I acted as the Spanish liaison for the PIO, guiding media to the live-streaming setup. I also ensured the smooth operation of the live broadcast, overseeing audio coordination for the event's entrance and exit sequences.
